Events
Seminars and workshops
It is expected that candidates will participate in the intellectual life of CEDAM in addition to completing their research degree, by regularly attending seminars and maintaining frequent contact with their supervisors.
Regular events
CEDAM has monthly theory and methodology workshops for education candidates and a monthly reading group HERO.
Many other parts of the University offer seminars which may be of interest. See the Research Students Development Centre for information.
Organise your own seminar
If students would like to see a particular speaker present a talk, or would like to organise a workshop or conference, they should get in touch with their Student Representatives. They may be able to get funding for this from Graduate Studies in Education.
Candidates are strongly encouraged to get together with their peers and organise their own seminars, work-in-progress group, or reading group. This can be a great way of learning about unfamiliar areas, discovering points of common interest, or trying out ideas in an informal setting.
Candidates are also invited to attend any sessions of the Graduate Certificate in Higher Education and Master of Higher Education. Please contact the convenors the relevant lecturer first.

Reading Groups
The HERO Group
At 8.30am on the first Tuesday of every month, a group of higher degree research students from CEDAM, along with a group of interested academics from ANU, UC, ADFA and ACU meet at CEDAM to critique a topical journal article.
Annual events
We anticipate that in 2009 we will commence an annual conference for ANU education research candidates and staff.
